A celebrity who is passionate about cooking is given the unique challenge of being the Head Chef at a restaurant for one day. They develop their own menu of two starters, two main courses and two desserts. They work with the restaurant’s regular staff. They cook for real diners. Well-known restaurant critics will judge their success. Chef Marco Pierre White has been a critic on the Irish production for the last four seasons.
During service the Guest Head Chef gets instant feed back in the kitchen to their menu from cameras covering the dining room. The identity of the celebrity remains a secret to the diners and the critics until service is over and then the celebrity steps out of the kitchen and faces the critics in front of the diners. The celebrity will be awarded stars between one and five from the critics for their efforts.
The show has been in production in Ireland since 2004.
