Super Garden, the garden design competition has been a hit since 2006 on RTE 1 television, winning its primetime slot with a 22% audience share.
In the Super Garden format novice Gardener Designers compete to create the Super Garden. Each designer is allocated a similar size garden that requires a complete make over. They are real gardens with real owners. The designers have five weeks to design and build a new garden and then the judges arrive. Each episode tells the story of one garden transformation and then the final episode reviews the gardens created in the series and the judges select the Super Garden. The winning garden is recreated at Ireland’s premier garden show “Bloom” where over 100000 visitors can experience it and the winning Garden designer is now with the elite of garden design.

In Ireland Super Garden is scheduled so that the final show is on the first day of the Bloom garden event in Dublin. The final episode comes live from Bloom revealing the winning garden recreated at the show. The production has been able to extend this live final to an additional show from Bloom that looks at the event in general. The Super Garden Final and “Live From Bloom” are both broadcast on the same night on RTE 1
